Heather Burt – Yoga Teacher
What is your why?
I practice yoga because it brings me closer to love and connectedness. It helps to keep me to be grounded even in the midst of turbulence and stress. This is why I teach, because I love sharing this peace and love and connecting with my students.
How did you get started?
I got started with yoga as a form of exercise to nurture my body. However, I have since found that it goes far beyond my body as it also nurtures my mind, and soul.
What pushes you to continue?
I am very motivated to continue with my practice because it brings me so much joy. And everyday that I practice or teach I continue to connect more deeply with joy.
Who was your biggest yogi influence and why?
Every yogi that I have met has influenced me so much by inspiring me and widening my perspectives! Another huge influence in my yoga path was one of my teaching instructors Hector Villavicencio who taught me the importance of gentleness and the beauty in imperfection.
How long teaching and in what styles?
I have been practicing yoga for five years and in this time I have explored many different styles of yoga. I love teaching styles that are rooted in mindfulness and the mind-body connection whether this is a gentle yoga or a more powerful intense style of yoga.
Dark chocolate, popcorn, and a good movie!
