How did Nita get started?
Yoga found Nita when she needed it most! Eight years ago she fell in love with hot yoga for the asana practice. She loved how she felt after a hot and sweaty sweat sesh! with others and when I teach classes.
A year later she began to dive deeper into yoga that she realized there was so much more! She began to read up on the eight limbs of yoga and her husband, Harold, asked her where his wife was…Nita was changing for the better! Opening her heart & clearing her head one yoga class at a time!
Becoming so inspired, she decided to enroll in a RYT 200 hour yoga teacher training and graduated in June 2017! She has since taught over 300 yoga classes both locally and internationally! Nita teaches on the beautiful beaches in the Caribbean a few times a year!
How long teaching and in what styles?
Her favorite place to teach is in the midst of chaos…letting her fellow humans know they have control of their thoughts, breath & how they react in any given situation! She educates students so they can “yoga” anywhere!! She believes that when the asana practice is over in the studio, that is the beginning of the students growth. She enjoys hearing how yoga transforms their lives in between asana practices with her.
Her favorite pose, savasana! Because it is mind over matter, self-discipline and self-control.
Nita enjoys running marathons and is currently training for an Ultra trail marathon. She confesses that hot yoga keeps her running injury free! She loves conversing about yoga, exercise, nutrition, kombucha & running!
